Hello everyone,
So I was wondering if anyone could answer the burning question...I'm a second year nursing student and I've been seconded from the hospital where I worked as a Healthcare Assistant. When I started at uni, my line manager at the time just had to make an amendment to my contract and I never had to hand in my notice and I still get a monthly wage from the hospital, so technically I am still employed by the NHS.
My partner and I have spoken about starting a family, but we want to wait until I have finished my studies as well as him settling into starting up his own business (which by the time I have finished uni he will of had two years of settling into it and will be up and running completely by then, as he is more than half way there already!). This leads me onto my burning question of...once my secondment has finished and I am qualified, will I be entitled to maternity pay straight away? or will I have to work a year before I am entitled to this?
I hope this makes sense and someone can help me out
