Hi Everyone
I'm booked in for a sweep on Tuesday I'll be 38 weeks. However I have an appointment today I am 37+2 can I ask for one today?

Since I booked my 38 week sweep I have been to the pregnancy unit 3 times due to bleeding and I have been told he's a big baby. First was big and I had problem after problem with his labour so rather avoid being overdue again.

No negative comments please

I had them from 37 weeks due to severe spd. They couldn't actually do a proper one till 39 weeks so be prepared for it to potentially fail. Round here only consultants can do them before due date.

I have a vague recollection that they wouldn't sweep before 37 weeks but that doesn't really affect you. Personally, I found that the sweeps had the most peculiar effect of making me have a sort of endorphin high which, if I'd been really ready to go into labour would have helped me no end. Had 7 altogether then had ARM as they were worried about infection if they did any more. Might be worth posing the question about induction with your allocated consultant. Midwife might be harder to convince?

Thanks Ladies.
Everything was fine until I hit 35+6 then had random bleeds and found he's a big baby.

Feel awful trying to rush him but the labour was just horrendous with my first xxx
