Hi everyone,
I'm 35 weeks and just had a growth scan, my babies stomach was measuring off the scale! I had a growth scan at 28 weeks, it was only a week in front.
I have been tested for GD and haven't got it.

If you had this can you share your experiences please? Should I be worried?

Had similar, all was fine no GD, just a big baby! 10lb 8
I wouldn't worry too much.

keely79 · 21/02/2018 12:10

Had similar for both kids - had three GD tests in all. They were just big - DD was 10lb 7 and DS was 10lb 2 - not particularly fat either - just long (DH and I are both tall). Had them both naturally as well so obviously a fine size for me and my body.

Best of luck with your pregnancy.

Hi. I also had this with my DS. The little marker was wayyy off to the right above the 100th percentile. DS was absolutely fine and normal 8lb :-)

He did grow very fast once he was born though!

help1978 · 21/02/2018 12:13

I was off the scale....9lbs at 42 weeks

lizzlebizzle33 · 21/02/2018 12:15

Same here, big baby. 9.5lb at 40+4. He's 3 months now ant 17lb 🙈

LemonMuffin837 · 21/02/2018 12:18

Wow! Ok.. so, prepare for a massive baby. I'm only 5ft1, my bump is absolutely huge as well. I look like Humpty Dumpty.
I'm actually at risk of having a small baby hence the growth scan Confused

I'm in the same boat op. I'm 5'2 and abdomen measuring 93rd centile. Bit freaked out though no one seems too worried. No GD here either.

LemonMuffin837 · 21/02/2018 17:15

@HalfStar how many weeks are you?
I have to go back for another scan in three weeks and if I'm above the 95th they will look at inducing me early, but anything below that they won't.

GD can develop later on, so you could do another test. I was quite borderline with my first - the readings got so much higher as I got to 34-36 weeks that I would definitely have failed the test then.

But if they're not worried about it then you shouldn't be - scans are notoriously inaccurate and the abdomen is the hardest bit to measure!

HalfStar · 22/02/2018 11:09

I'm 38 weeks tomorrow. I'm not sure what my levels or readings were when I did the GD test. At my most recent MW appointment I mentioned the huge abdomen measurement at the scan and the MW didn't seem to fussed. She said the baby didn't feel particularly big to her, just a 'nice' size Hmm. This is my 3rd DC and my first two were pretty small.

Oysterbabe · 22/02/2018 11:24

I was told my baby had a very "cuddly tummy" at 36 week scan and was also off the scale. He arrived at 40+4 weighing 8lbs 1 with completely normal proportions.

Starlive22 · 22/02/2018 12:09

Ask them to monitor amniotic fluid in case of polyhydramnios. I have this but it was passed off as big baby for a long time x

LemonMuffin837 · 22/02/2018 12:31

Thanks ladies.
They checked the fluid at the same time and said it was normal. I have to go back up again in three weeks for another scan.
I spoke to the consultant after she said do you have any questions, I said yes, should I be worried about anything? She said no nothing at all. But I'm still worrying lol

My consultant said that she didn't even know why they were still using the scans for measurement reasons as they were so grossly inaccurate

It's very unlikely you'll be carrying a Xmas turkey in there don't worry x
