Is that too late? Anybody had it around the same time.

Technically no.

But ... the cut off is 13.6 and lots of women are found to be a few days out on this scam. In my opinion that’s cutting it too fine. Request an earlier scan.

Scan, not scam

Hoviscats · 20/02/2018 20:36

Definitely request an earlier scan. With DS1 my scan was this late and as a result they couldn't do the measurements properly so had to rely on the 16week blood test at which I came up high risk for a chromosome abnormality.

I ended up having an amino which showed all was fine but it was an extremely stressful time. The consultant who came and did my 20 week scan told me that the 16 week blood test is considerably less reliable than the 12 week nuchal scan.

Sorry that's obviously a bit of a scare story but I think you are perfectly justified to make sure you get an early enough scan that you aren't in the same boat as I was!

Thanks.
I am 13 weeks tomorrow and my scan is next Monday. I’ll try to move it. Wish me luck 🙈Flowers

did you manage to get it brought forward?

Backenette · 21/02/2018 13:41

Yes the quad test is significantly lower accuracy

LisaSimpsonsbff · 21/02/2018 14:57

Agree with the above that it'll be fine if you actually are measuring 13+5 at the scan (I measured 13+3 at mine and they did the nuchal measurements just fine) but that it's cutting it too fine in case you're measuring further than expected - I was absolutely, cast-iron sure of my dates and still got moved forward five days at mine.

RosaBaby2 · 21/02/2018 16:58

I had mine at 13+5 and it was fine.

ThorsMistress · 21/02/2018 17:12

I’ve received my 12 week scan appointment today and mine will be when I’m 13+1

AnnaLuna · 21/02/2018 21:41

Hoviscats, no, unfortunately, could never get through to the scans department and they don’t have answerphone.

The reason is my scan is so late is they counted that I’ll be just over 12 weeks at the time of the scan based on first day of my LMP. In the meantime I had already had a scan somewhere else and it transpires that I am further on in my pregnancy than I originally thought. Next Monday 13 weeks 5 days should be accurate according to the previous scan. Unless they decide differently and change the dates again. 🙈

At my 12 week scan I was actually 14 weeks exactly. They still did nuchal fold test after they had checked measurement of baby. Other threads on here say cut off is 15/16weeks. I think you will be fine.

LisaSimpsonsbff · 22/02/2018 08:49

When was your previous scan? One of the reasons I am cast iron sure of my dates is that I had early scans at 6, 8 and 10 weeks, all of which matched perfectly with when tests and temping said I had ovulated - but they still put me ahead by 5 days at my 12 week scan 2.5 weeks later! I'm pretty certain that my foetus was just a bit bigger than an average one of my gestation, but they still moved my due date etc.

beepthemeep · 22/02/2018 09:42

If you're worried OP, you could always book a harmony test? That's more accurate anyway as it's a DNA test, and you can have it done after 14 weeks. You also get a really detailed scan, much more like the 20 week scan in my experience.

If you're near London, I had mine done at foetal medical centre on Harley street, but lots of places do it.

🤞🏻

Had a scan today. It went well. They moved my due date again. Measured me 13 weeks 3 days this time instead of 13.5. Nuchal fold measurement was 1.70 mm. Had bloods done afterwards. Will be waiting for results.
