Suffering with migraines but midwife has advised testing at hospital for preeclampsia?

Just wondering if anyone has any experience of this. I’m 29 weeks with baby #2 and have suffered migraines through this pregnancy quite badly. Currently signed off work as I have had one every day for the past 2 weeks and it was becoming impossible to finish a day at work. diet, medication and rest haven’t changed the frequency or intensity. I always lose vision in one eye, feeling in one hand and my tongue goes numb. I told MW this today and she wants me to be tested for preeclampsia in hospital “if they get any worse”. I’m not sure how urgently I need to have this testing and how much worse they need to get? She told me to book in to fetal health for the tests. My blood pressure has always been normal when tested and I’ve had no protein in urine or swelling to hands and feet so can’t help but think nothing will come of it anyway and it’s something I’m just going to have to struggle on with.

That's very similar to my symptoms of IIH (Idiopathic intracranial hypertension) and tbh you are gonna want seen asap for that so either go to casualty when you lose sight again (medically told this by neurologist) or get midwife to ring up and find out asap.

Don't be too surprised if you find yourself under consultant care as for IIH in our area you aren't allowed to push for too long as it can cause issues with IIH.

Hope it settles quickly but don't leave it - any doubts get seen.

Thanks for the info gryffen, I have the doctor today so am going to ask about any further investigation. I really can’t cope with these headaches every day for potentially another 12 weeks. I’m already under consultant care for vbac but I’m not due to see him until 35 weeks which if these migraines carry on will be one every day for 8 weeks!
