Hi

I'm approaching 26 weeks pregnant for the past week or so my hands have felt like someone has stamped on them, achy sore joints. I assumed it was just one of those weird complaints you have for 24 hours and they go, but its still there, in both hands espcially in the lower finger joint. I've also noticed that when trying to open bottles or jars my grip is much weaker.

Any ideas what could be causing this? There's no obvious discoloration or swelling but I have short fat fingers so swelling might not be obvious.

I've also had hip pain, on outside of joint (feels kind of rotten is only way I can describe it, and today neck and shoulder pain), could these be related?

I've tried paracetamol but it doesn't touch it, no appointment available at Drs for 2 weeks.

Any ideas what it might be? Friend said it sounds likecarpal tunnel but having read up on that I don't think it is.

I'm 24+3 and I've had pins and needles in my hands on occasion during this pregnancy (defo carpal tunnel) also have previously suffered with lower joint ache in hands with fluid retention, could be similar (only when cold tho) but never for long period... would get it checked with your MW.

Severe hip ache is driving me mad (waking me up at night / multiple times) which is apparently very common due to the relaxin hormone..

Hope you feel better soon x

I'm in the same boat, almost in tears with my hands tonight and paracetamol isn't touching it (2 tablets less than an hour ago and in agony).

Any ideas for a painkiller a bit stronger than paracetamol? Asked pharmacist about heat gels and patched and got a big fat no..

I was prescribed co-codamol a few weeks ago for really bad flare ups x
