had scan on fri no hb

Hi i was sent for an early scan on friday had swabs took and internal consultant said uterus was a nice size,no sign of bleeding (not had any)soft and closed sent me for scan to check in right place couldnt see anything abdominal so did internal scan and sonographer saw sac and foetus but no hb should have been 8+2 according to lmp but baby only measured 6 weeks they have said not to worry as just to early for hb and if we go by date i concieved which was prob 14th march then i would be 6 weeks (i actually got positive on 21st march)has anyone else been in same situation i have another scan on 11th march which seems ages to wait as they havent took bloods for hcg levels so don't even have that to go on.

oh, poor you - what a difficult situation

how come you had the early scan if no bleeding? just sometimes, the early scans can give rise to more anxiety ....

7 + weeks is around the time you can see a HB, but often it can be later than that, so try not to worry, in the meantime, if you can

the hcg levels are less accurate than a scan, so it probably wouldn't make that much difference if you had the HCG levels done. I was in a similar position to you, and all turned out OK, it is horrible though when you are in limbo and waiting for the next scan to check whethre thngs are OK. But having the HCG levels done caused me no end of worry as they weren't increasing by much, so were more consistent with an ectopic.

Had a scan to rule out ectopic has had stitch in my side although i wasnt worried as not really painful but mw wanted me checked out

ok !! there have been a couple of mumsnetters recently who have had similar issues, with their LMP and scan dates not tallying....at this point, just need to hold tight! hope it is good news when you go back

I'm afraid I had bad news when I was in a similar situation but I know that there have been a number of people who went on to have healthy pregnancies. There was a thread called waiting in limbo or something like that for people who were waiting for the outcome of scans, bloods etc so you could try searching for that. Sorry, dont mean to be doom and gloom but just saying my experience was not good. I hope everything turns out well for you.

I had a scan at 6 weeks and they couldnt find a heartbeat, when I went back at 8 weeks it was there and all looked normal,I am now 14+5 weeks. Try not to worry it was probably just too early to see it.

I remember Thomcat going through the same thing... she has a beautiful little lady now
