Changing jobs whilst pregnant

Hi, was looking for some advice in regards to changing jobs whilst pregnant. I'm 17 weeks and have recently moved house but this was out of my control. It's now a mission to get to work I have to walk and take the bus and it knackers me. I'm not entitled to maternity pay anyways as I started there too soon before my news.

Is it likely I'll be taken on? I just want somewhere closer where it doesn't impact me and my body so much. I'm quite little and the growing bump and tiredness is taking it's toll but I want to still work :)

To be honest although companies won't admit to doing it they probably won't hire you.

If you have a months notice to work then you won't be starting until 21 weeks earliest, you need to let them know by 25 weeks when you're going off and then by day 35 weeks you'll be on maternity so you'll only have worked between 13 and 18 weeks which isn't a lot before finding your replacement.

Why do you not get matt pay at current role ?

I hadn't worked there long enough before I found out I was pregnant so I believe I'll be getting maternity allowance - or whichever one it is that I have to go to the gov for

I see, that makes sense thank you! My partners just got a job literally 2 mins away from us and I'm tempted to try and go for it as I think they're taking on a lot of new recruits so may not mind me being there for a short time but I shall see. I'm probably just being a wuss haha

You're not been a wuss at all. Pregnancy is really tricky and what ever you can do to make it easier is best!

Thank you, I feel I can't even walk to the end of the street at the mo without needed a big bottle of water, a sit down and quick snack to rejuvenate myself 😂 fingers crossed:) x

What sort of work do you do? If it's office based can you work from home as a reasonable adjustment?
