Toothache - UTI question for you

Hi, Toothache,

I remember from my thread a while ago that you have suffered from UTIs this preg too. I have jujst been diagnosed with another and am on another course of antibios. Really stressing it will harm the baby (esp as am also GBS+ and will need IV antibios in labour and baby may have to have them at birth too). Did you take any of these acidophilus supplements to ease the effects? Worried baby will be born with thrush from them. Thanks, hope you're well.

Hi Dinny, hoep you don't mind me answering too! .
I've had several UTI's during this pregnancy too and I've taken live natural yoghurt along with each course of antibiotics to help stave off thrush. It naturally contains acidophilus, so it's a good way of topping up on the right bacteria to counteract the effects of the antibiotics. (With my first course of antibiotics I did get thrush before I started using the yoghurt, but the yoghurt saw it off in no time .)
HTH, and that you feel better soon. There's nothing quite like a baby bouncing around on an already sore bladder, is there!

Thanks for replying, Levanna. Have been eating lots of probiotic yoghurt (Danone) and have just bought the drink too. And have been swilling cranberry juice-water by the gallon.

When are you due? Is it September? D

Hi Dinny, I'm due in 28 days! Oh yes, I hadn't mentioned cranberry, but I've been drinking it regularly since I got the UTI's too, just to keep flushed out! Hope you're feeling better . When is it you are due?

Due 5th September. Reckon will pop sooner though - mid August is my feeling. Prob wrong though
