We are hoping to get away for a last holiday as a couple and to get some sun... due to our nct class dates it looks like this will only be in april. Any suggestions of where to go? Im not too uncomfortable so would be ok with longish flights like 8 hrs. We were thinking cuba/carribean but flights are much longer and they appear to have zika there. Id really appreciate any ideas. Flying from gatwick or heathrow, to somewhere over 20 degrees that will be a nice relaxing holiday. The idea was originally to go somewhere that would be difficult later on with a baby/child, while we still can... but then it will be fairly late in my pregnancy so i guess that limits things! Any thoughts would be appreciated :)

I know you're not too uncomfortable now but a lot can change in 2 months (2 months ago I was working nightshifts on top of a full time uni course walking 14,000 steps a day easy never had any morning sickness throughout 1st or 2nd trimester and barely aware of pregnancy symptoms; now at 32 weeks I'm on early Mat leave due to exhaustion and being diagnosed with anaemia, get the bus to uni instead of walking the 2 miles and haven't slept through the night in 2 weeks, never mind feeling comfortable for more than 10 minutes). Do not book a holiday 8 hours flight away unless absolutely necessary as things can change big time especially if you're further along. It is easier to fly 8 hours with a screaming child than while hugely pregnant, trust me. What about Italy or Morocco? If you want somewhere more unusual and off the beaten road try Ljubljana, Lake Bled is absolutely beautiful. Croatia is also lovely and not too far away as is Montenegro. There's always Marseilles for a bit of romance. Don't trek halfway around the world for some sun, you'll end up spending most of the holiday in the hotel room sleeping off your exhaustion if you do. There's lots of beautiful hidden unusual places in Europe. Also apply twice as much sunblock as you normally do, found I burned extremely easy during my pregnancy but not sure if that was coincidence. Remember most airlines won't fly after 36 weeks and to bring a doctor's note if you're past 28 weeks or showing quite obviously.

Can’t agree more with the pp more. I did a weekend trip few weeks ago to France @30w. I did book it last minute and when it was time to go I really didn’t want to go. I had been 2 days of that week in the hospital for monitoring as i keep having reduced movements. I did enjoy the holiday loads but I’d not have liked to be so far away from home if something went wrong. Also the speed I was walking at had nothing to do to the one I used to walk.

Places to go that are warm and nearby : Canary Islands , Malta(tho I went once in April and was freezing) , Cape Verde , Greek islands or mainland , Croatia tho they don’t have good beaches.

The most important for me at 32w would be to go somewhere where you know that doctors are good and also make sure your insurance would cover last minute cancellations and also pregnancy related problems (giving birth at 32w ie)

I’m already planning where to go once the baby is here and it must be that I’m travelholic but I can’t wait to do 8h flights with mini me.

Marrakesh or Canary Islands?

You may re-evaluate when mini me is here and going on a 20-minute Tesco shop seems near impossible 😄 (Just joking, kind of.. 😁)

Aw yes I can always leave mini me with dh and go on my own hahaha. He needs to learn once born that in this family we travel and if he doesn’t behave he will be staying with gp :D

Regarding Tesco : thanks got online shopping Smile
