Hello everyone. This is my first time on a board like this, I've never been the most maternal person. In fact up until last year I was adamant I wasn't having kids and the other half was very 'go with flow' too. Im 30 now though and so we changed our minds and decided we would like to try after Christmas and so, after only our second attempt of TTC, we've found this morning that I'm pregnant! I know how lucky we are, our friends have been trying for over two years and finally fell pregnant after four rounds of IVF.

I took a cheap strip test a couple of days ago and I got a 'squint to see it' faint line. I therefore wondered if I was but then yesterday morning I thought I'd started my period as there was a little pinkish blood when I first woke up. It was incredibly light, if non existent, the rest of the day. But that is normal for me, ive usually beem fairly light at first. Therefore we decided to go out for a meal and I had several drinks too last night. This morning there was no trace of anything though on my tampon (sorry tmi) so I took another cheap strip test which showed a faint but stronger than before line. I took 3 more (!) which all showed a definite line. I finally went and got a clear blue test which said pregnant, 1-2.

I have nobody at all to talk to as I dont have my mum or aunts or any sisters. Is what I've experienced normal? It doesn't feel real at all and apart from very slightly sore boobs and a 10 second wave of nausea yesterday, I have no classic symptoms really.

Thanks for reading

Congratulations. There is plenty of time for symptoms to appear. Enjoy feeling normal while you do

All normal so far :) congratulations.. x

ClareB83 · 18/02/2018 08:50

Yup that's normal.

Countingsheeeep · 18/02/2018 08:54

Yep loads of time for symptoms to kick in, and even if they don't that's totally normal too. My first pregnancy I would hardly have known I was pregnant aside from the growing bump.

All sounds normal to me. The pink could have been implantation bleeding. Many people are without noticeable symptoms at this stage. Clear blue digital have a high threshold for hcg so it's more than likely you are very much pregnant.

As an aside never wear a tampon 'just in case it can cause serious infection.

Thank you for your replies. What a nervy time, I literally have no clue!

Congratulations! All sounds very normal to me. Don't worry about the spotting unless it gets worse or you have pain with it.

Ring your GP surgery and tell them you are pregnant and they will tell you what to do next!
