It's my 1st baby and I'm 5 weeks pregnant I'm starting to worry bout most things stupid I know. I'm currently extremely tired all the time morning sickness is all day I'm living off ginger snaps to settle my stomach. Constant headaches I've had this since before I knew I was pregnant. Any suggestions?

Sleep when you can.

Second trimester the sickness will probably go and something else will take over.

This is pregnancy.

Thankyou trying to sort everything and handle everything

Sleep when you can.
Take sips of water when you feel like you can
And if you can only handle Ginger snaps, then stock up!

Hopefully the sickness will ease soon, get as much rest as possible when you can

& congratulations Thanks

I felt like that at 5 weeks & it definitely gets better in the second trimester! Congratulations on your pregnancy

Honestly the first trimester is shit. I'm 6 weeks into my second pregnancy and I'd forgotten how awful the 24/7 nausea and constant exhaustion is. However I'm counting down the days, last time as soon as I hit 13 weeks I felt much better. I had a really easy second trimester last time (in terms of pregnancy anyway, I was however in hospital twice for other reasons). Then comes the third when I got huge and swollen and achey and tired because I couldn't get comfy to sleep.

Welcome to pregnancy, its amazing but it also sucks at points.

If you are irrationally worrying about things, Google is NOT your friend. Talk to your doctor or midwife if you have any concerns, they will be able to put your mind at rest rather than worry you more.

There shouldn't really be too much pregnancy stuff to sort at this stage. Take your vitamins and folic acid and refer yourself to the midwives. They'll invite you to a booking in appt and get your 12 week scan date sorted.

Maybe get the flu jab too since it's still winter.

That's it. Nothing else needs doing for ages.

I'm literally stocking up on ginger biscuits and feeling like an old woman I try not to google too much as it's obviously all too much sometimes.
I'm due my first midwife appointment on8th March so be able to ask 500 questions then.

I think you'll find they'll be the ones asking 500 questions.

If you're feeling a bit clueless maybe get a book on pregnancy to pass the time.

lozbeth · 18/02/2018 16:05

A bit clueless lol isn't everyone when it's there first

I'm in the same situation! First baby and five weeks pregnant. The nausea is horrible! I've been getting lots of headaches too. Joys of pregnancy Grin

lozbeth · 18/02/2018 18:25

I feel your pain I'm doing everything I'm supposed to do and it's jus the headaches and tiredness and everything mentioned that's making it crap but it all be worth it in end. Glad it's not jus me then moaning bout first pregnancy lol
