Just seen my throat looks bad and feel rank, doctors now closed is it okay to take painkillers till Monday to book an appointment? And what do you think they'll prescribe me if I'm pregnant with tonsillitis

Paracetamol within usual guidelines you can take. As for doctor they might give antibiotics - I think my gp prescribed when they wouldn't normally only because being pregnant there wasn't anything else I could take and so I think gp thought worth a try- first time I'd had any in years and either that helped or I was getting over it... I really hope you feel better soon

I had laryngitis at Christmas at 14 weeks pregnant and was told bed rest and paracetamol...

I caught bacterial tonsillitis when pregnant and was prescribed penicillin. Then had it viral and had to let it run its course. Funnily enough i had changed vitamins just before i got it to folic acid only. I had tonsillitis 3 times in 3 weeks and when i went bk to pregnacare I never had it again.
