We found out I was pregnant around 3 weeks ago. I'm 7 and a half weeks now and we're both really happy but we have now found out my partner is being deployed for 9 months a month before baby is due. I feel like this is putting a massive downer on everything. Advice/kind words would be much appreciated. Thank you :)

I've not really got any advice but just wanted to say hi and my husband was in the military when our first was born. It was hard, especially when he had to go back after he was born. He's left now and at home with a job close by but just wanted to say hi and you'll be fine xx

My DH is military and it's very hard with him being away but you will be ok, do you have anyone to support you while he's gone? The early days are tough with a new baby, I assume he should still get a couple of weeks paternity leave?

Thank you! We have loads of close family and will have lots of support. Think today has just been extra emotional as he's away atm! Being young and it being my first think I'm over worrying about a lot. He will get his paternity but did say they don't 'have' to let him go?? Hopefully doesn't come to that x

My dad was military and he was away a lot during my childhood. My parents sometimes ask of this bothers me and I can honestly say it doesn't. It was tough on my mum but I just accepted it as normal. I'm still really close to him.
