Ideas for something other than a baby shower?

Hi ladies,

Im currently 26 weeks pregnant and I like the idea of a baby shower for the celebration aspect but I don't really want a baby shower with games and gifts etc as all of my family and close friends (who Id invite to one) have already bought a couple of bits for baby anyway.

I was thinking maybe a little afternoon tea or lunch somewhere with all the special ladies in my life but wanted to see if anybody was doing something other than a baby shower and you could share your ideas? :)

With both of my pregnancies I did a nice lunch out with my closest friends. It was really nice. It’s not often I have my closest friends all together and it was nice to relax and enjoy some food and drinks together before the chaos ensued! I said no presents, wait until baby is born.

I had a traditional baby shower for first pregnancy and an afternoon tea for second and I much preferred the second one.
It was lovely spending the afternoon with close friend and family chatting and drinking tea without all the games etc.
They did bring presents but my sister got everyone a present too so it wasn't all me me me.

I'm having a Saturday Sundae! All my friends and family are getting together to make ice cream sundaes in glass jars and put loads of toppings on.

I love ice cream so it's right up my street!

There may be a few baby related games but I have specifically said no gifts, but I would love everyone to bring baby a book (can be second hand!) And write a message in it for her.

You could look into a blessingway. If you aren't that hippy dippy though, then just a nice lunch would be lovely.
