My DS is 2. Up until now I could say I definitely wasn’t ready. But this past month or so I can’t wait To start trying again. I’ve dowloaded an ovulation app 😁

I’m not sure what’s changed.. What was it for you?

Just before our LO turned 2 I really felt ready to go for number 2!

They are about to turn 4 and we've not yet had number 2 tho I am 16 weeks pregnant so hopefully we will.

Once I realised the morning after pill hasn't worked and I had a positive test, despite dc1 being only 10 months Grin As soon as I saw the line I wanted them desperately, just as well since he's now in his third trimester.

DS1 and DS2 are 23 months apart. I knew I definitely wanted another one, and I didn't want to hang about. So as soon as DS1 was past his first birthday I started trying. DS2 and DS3 are 2 years and 9 months apart. The 2nd age gap was definitely much easier.

I was the same as you. Started trying and had my 2nd a month after my daughters 3rd birthday

InDubiousBattle · 15/02/2018 20:29

We made a plan to have them close ish together (dc are 19 months apart) and stuck doggedly to it despite ds's best efforts to finish us off through sleep deprivation!

mindutopia · 15/02/2018 20:32

For us, it was once we got back to having some sort of normal adult life again, time for ourselves (even a few nights and weekends away like the old days), able to sit down and not be so exhausted, decent night's sleep regularly. And also primarily, when I got to another point in my career when it was good for me to take time off again and to be able to make the most of it. For us, that was when our first was turning 4. She just turned 5 and I'm due with baby #2 any day now. It's a bigger age gap than most, but it was definitely right for us. It meant she was in school and we also didn't have to worry about sending 2 to nursery, so the financial bit of it was also a major factor.

My first two are two years apart. Such hard work in the early years but now they're 6 and 4 they're thick as thieves.

DS3 is 6 months and the 3 and a bit year age gap is soooooo much easier.

Depends on how much energy you have I guess!

I was desperate for another since DD1 was 4 weeks old! Didn't actually feel seriously ready until she a year old. Took another 6 months to convince DH. Grin

DD will be 28 months when DS is born.

Potteryprincess30 · 15/02/2018 21:59

only 7 years after baby number 1 Grin

Same father too, just took us that long to be ready for another. She's due in 2 weeks so they will be exactly 8 years apart, both March babies

blinkineckmum · 15/02/2018 22:17

When my periods came back. I had a couple of cycles to feel normal again. 13 months. So a 21 month age gap.

Mybabystolemysanity · 15/02/2018 22:21

10 months then positive test. Partly sad the baby stage was over and I hadn't enjoyed it, so wanted to do it again. Not getting any younger and feeling DD should have a chance at a sibling. I'd like another after this one but maybe won't happen. Due in July so 17 months between. Can't wait to meet him/her now.
