hi, just wondering if anyone else knows how to ease this pain. it’s not pre eclampsia as my bp is normal (very slightly raised two days ago), but has always been steady, and from where the pain is my midwife says it is muscular, but i literally am in agony, can’t move / sleep / cough etc! this is my 2nd pg - does anyone have any advice?Smile

Doctors.

If midwife is happy baby is fine you need to go to doctors to rule out lots of other issues such as Appendix, gallstones etc.

Not trying to alarm you but sometimes midwives just blame muscles for everything and you need a GP to have a look.

Try a hot towel or water bottle and when needing to cough raise feet up and hold pillow up.

I've had this last weekend! Although I'm a lot earlier on in my pregnancy than you (27 weeks) - it was on the right side of my tummy and getting up, coughing, bending down etc was agony! The only thing I could compare it to was that it felt like a really nasty stitch that just didn't go away. Started quite suddenly too, not sure if yours did?

My doctor told me it was probably my round ligament "popping" and gave me codeine for the pain. It's taken until today for me to feel like I can go about life without needing to take it/wincing constantly. Like I said though, I'm not as far along in my pregnancy as you.

Definitely go to your GP and tell them what's going on. It's still worth checking out, even if your midwife isn't worried about baby.

thanks for the advice everyone! the pain is worse and i honestly thought i felt a rip when i coughed earlier, i called the MAU again who said just keep up the painkillers. i’ll see how i get on tonight and if it’s any worse i’ll go to my gp tomorrow Smile

I had this which they said was normal. It lasted 3 days. Even when I told them that it felt the same as when I had a burst cyst they wernt interested. Just paracetamol and a what pad x
