Moles and skin tags - is it just me?

When pregnant with DS, I seemed to get a lot more moles and skin tags all over my body. These never went away. Now I'm pregnant again, I'm worried that I'll become totally covered in them! Anyone else had this? Anything I can do about it?

I had a nasty one on my neck, looked like a tick, thankfully it has significantly shrunk since he was born.
Not sure if there is anything you can do, I was told they just grow back if you remove them yourself.

i got skin tags too during my 2nd pregnancy-for some reason not in my first.all under my arms, they look hideous, and most of them are too small to be removed but big enough to irritate the life out of me..my husband laughs at me because i always say i have ugly armpits!!and when i shave they bleed like hell.owww!

I have a grown two large ones on my neck and chest which began to resemble rice krispies. Went to my Dr and he has started freezing them off. Seems to be working...kind of.They are red, scabby and look like spots now instead of breakfast cereal.

My moles got darker and some seemed to be new. This time round (3rd time PG), they're definitely even darker. I got a skin-tag "down below" with 1st PG, which did not shrink - in fact it grew again the 2nd time I got PG. I had it removed, purely for cosmetic reasons.

When I was pregnant I had a large mole type growth that appeared on the back of my scalp [yuck] so I went to see my GP who confirmed it was probably preg related so not to worry but also referred me to have it removed, the hospital appointment came through quite quickly and the removal process was quick and easy.

Can skin tags itch? I've had two on my neck during this pregnancy and both itched. They've no gone away though

I got a skin tag under my arm when I was pregnant with dd. I usd to shave it off accidentally!!!

put an icecube on it for ten mins to numb it then use a sharp pair of (very clean - boil them in a pan of hot water for a few mins) nail scissors to cut them off.

Also, to counter the previous thread about treacletarts tags, my four year old niece has loads and there's no way she's fat, fair, female and forty (tall, skinny, fair, female and four, does that count?)

MrsMar · 02/05/2007 09:47

Of course I don't really practice what I preach, one has developed under my boob and I'm too chicken to cut it off, hoping it'll go once giant boobs have shrunk back to pre pregnancy size!

monkeytrousers · 02/05/2007 09:54

Very normal for this to happen during pregnancy, you can get them removed very easily at your GP's normally

beckmo · 02/05/2007 10:20

Treacle tart -your skin tag saga just had me laughing out loud. Seeing the Dr today for the second blasting of my tags. Might rock up with multi coloured bits of string hanging off me and wielding a pair of nail clippers.....

MuminBrum · 02/05/2007 10:30

I got rid of one of my DP's skin tags with thread - I used that clear nylon stuff - tied it nice and tight (apparently it did hurt!), stuck a plaster over it - a week later we gingerly peeled off the plaster and off fell a tiny shrivel of dried up skin - tag gone, job done!

ZipadiSuzy · 02/05/2007 10:31

I have one on my 'belly button' from pregnancy, makes me feel faint just to ouch it! would love to 'have it off' {grin]
