Hello, I'm 10 weeks pregnant, I've definitely got thrush but having had a google it says you've got to see your dr or a midwife if pregnant so they can confirm and prescribe 'suitable treatment'?

I can't get an appointment with either for several days, have text midwife with no response. I remember I had it last time (I seem to remember more than once) and I think I just used normal canesten duo, but maybe that wasn't this early on in the pregnancy.

Help- what can I do? I feel like I'm sitting on an ants nest, I can't wait a few days!

I had thrush constantly when I was pregnant and I was told by a midwife (I was admitted with a water infection at 22 weeks) that I could use a peasant but WITHOUT the applicator (can irritate your cervix). Just to sort of like push the tablet in with finger.

Please don't take this as medical advice, check with your GP or pharmacist beforehand as I your circumstances could well be different from mine. You can't take the fluconazole, it's dangerous in pregnancy.

You can have canesten thrush cream although pharmacists won't give it to you if you tell them you're pregnant, grr. See your doctor but if you've had it before and definitely know it's thrush just buy some cream from the shop. I was told by the dr I could use the pessary too.

Supermarkets sell the pessary off the shelf so no need for the pharmacy. You can also buy the cream. Avoid the oral tablet in pregnancy

Midwife has confirmed I can use pessary and cream but not oral tablet. I'm hotfooting it to tescos..
