Hi all,
I forgot that I took my folic acid this morning when I woke up & fell asleep again, then woke up and took another lot of Folic Acid. I'm not taking the pregnecare ones but just folic acid as it was all there was when I ran out.
Will it effect my baby at all?
I've just reached the 6 week stone which is massively important to me & I'm literally off of work and University to get past this week.

Assuming it's just the standard dose you should be fine. Some people take a considerably higher dose if they are considered high risk of neural tube defects. I take supplements and try to get extra through my diet. Don't worry.

This is the one I'm taking :)

It won't do any harm.

boatrace30 · 09/02/2018 18:09

Definitely not. People at risk of a neural tube defect are prescribed ones 10x as strong so you are absolutely fine!

Anything Your body doesn't need will come out in your urine, 1 extra tablet won't hurt.

thecapitalsunited · 09/02/2018 18:14

I wouldn't worry about it - I'm on 5mg on prescription because I'm lardy and taking pregnancy supplements which contains 400ug so in total 5400ug. All in all 13.5 times the normal dose. Taking 800ug won't be harmful at all.

Phew! Thank you everyone!
Did have a wobble then!
