Bio Oil - OK??

I was bought bio oil from my dp to try and stave off the dreaded stretchmarks. It says on the inside that you can use during pg but it also says contains vitamin A and I know vit A is meant to be a no-no. Does anyone know if I can use it now or should I wait until after baba comes along?

You can use it. Out of interest, is the vitamin A listed on the box Retinol-A or beta-carotene? Because it is only the former which is unsafe in large quantities and as far as I know only when consumed

Wow, thanks for the quick responses. It actually doesn't say as I'd looked for that myself. They wouldn't recommend it in pg if it wasn't safe though for fear of their asses sued would they?

It has to be because

  1. the vitamin A is in small amounts anyway (bet the Vitamin E content is massive)
  2. Skin exposure is not the same as ingestion

Bio-oil is so widely recommended, I agree it has got to be totally safe.
