Had my gtt this morning and noone mentioned about getting my results. How long do they usually take do they call you to let you know?

My MW called me within 4 working days x

I had to call the hospital the next day after 2pm.

I was supposed to get them the next day (possibly same day if lab wasn’t busy but no guarantees) but the lady who said she would ring was off that day and no one bothered to ring me until the day after when she was back! Thankfully mine were clear. I think they get them to you ASAP if you do have GD, but if not I suppose you’re less of a priority for telling!

I had mine the next day... At 8pm.they called.. I panicked as they say they only ring If a problem.. Turns out it was my iron they were worried about ( they did full bloods at same time)

I had mine this morning too and the midwife said they’d call ‘in the next few days’ to let me know the results.

I was told I'd get a call if the news was bad, otherwise I'd have a letter in the post within 5 working days. Letter took 10 days to arrive but thankfully all was well.

I had mine last Tuesday and was told I would have a call if something was wrong, I hadn't heard anything so I thought I would call today and double check! Glad I did because all my results were abnormal so looks like I do have GD, but wasn't told what I need to do from now on. The doctor said she would speak to someone and get back to me but still haven't heard. I have my 28 week midwife on Tuesday so I am hoping she can give me more information.

Now worrying about everything that goes with GD 😞 x

Thankyou all! Fingers crossed I don't hear from them then! Good luck with your results Rosa

Oh no littlefox you would have thought they would make your priority to contact!
My friend is in a facebook gestational diabetes uk group and she said the support there is fantastic (if you're not already joined) good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!
I have a mw appointment on tuesday so I'll check them then if I don't hear anything!

I called the next day and was told I'd failed the test and that I would need to see a consultant but they had no appointments for over two weeks. My appointment is meant to be 15th Feb but had nothing through yet.

Got told I'd have to be induced at 38 weeks and would have to have a hospital birth.

I've changed my diet and started checking my bloods myself, which have all been under NICE and WHO maximum levels.

Saw midwife today for my 29 week check and she said the consultant will decide where I give birth - I categorically told her if my bloods are ok and there's no risk to me or my baby, I will still be planning a home birth and it is my decision.

Honestly don't panic, there's a lot out there to read, but a lot sounds far worse than it actually is!

Mine were emailed the following day.
