Afternoon all, don't often post, but often read and feel in need of reassurance.
I'm 31 weeks pregnant, overall fine, early pregnancy had high blood pressure reading by midwife, and given extra scans because of this, all other BP readings sine have been normal or low.

Had scan and checks two weeks ago, all fine. Had midwife appointment this morning, she took bloods, which were not done at previous scan appointment despite me asking - another story!

She then did blood pressure, used the smaller cuff, got a high reading and tried again with large cuff, still high 130/95. Urine fine, baby heart beat fine, but she has asked me to be seen for checkup within 48 hours at hospital due to the high BP reading. I've got appointment later today but worried, which has given me headache and no doubt high blood pressure!!
I know we cant diagnose over forums but just wondered if anyone else have had similar.
I don't or rather didn't feel any more stressed etc than general before all of this like all others busy with work life pressures etc but thought i was doing okay.....

I had high BP in my first pregnancy. They monitored me and I was admitted for a couple of nights (but I had trace amounts of protein in my urine). Honestly, I think it's better that they want to keep an eye on you, I would try to feel reassured by that.
You have a headache because you are stressed. Try not to worry, let them check everything is OK Flowers

I have been in and out of hospital during both my pregnancies with high bp, they will take good care of you and make sure you're not developing pre eclampsia. In my experience no amount of avoiding stress salt or caffeine helps it's just one of those things but they see it every day so you will be well looked after, hope you get a good reading OP! Xx

I would just get it checked and drink lots of water and try not to worry about it too much in the meantime. It could be just a blip and that won't mean anything really. I had a funny heart rate reading (well, baby's) at 28 weeks. It was unusually high (180) and I was sent in for monitoring right away, like packed up and left straight for the hospital. Midwife said she considered even calling an ambulance as it was considered that urgent. All fine. It was perfectly normal on the ward. Just one of those things. I've had no further issues because of it.

Similarly, at 34 and 36 weeks I had a +1 protein reading in my urine test. They just kept an eye on it. BP is fine (actually, it's quite low, which is normal for me), no swelling, no headaches, no visual disturbances. Urine test was normal again yesterday at 39 weeks. Sometimes these things just happen, but pre-eclampsia is more than just high BP, so they'll keep an eye on it, but in the absence of anything else, they probably won't be too stressed about a slightly high reading on a couple of occasions.

thanks all, back from hospital, BP was fine, normal reading and the midwife said it was probably one of those things. I am back anyway on monday for scan and check so they said to come back then but try not to worry in the meantime!!
thanks for the handhold - its to easy to start worrying sometimes!
