Exhausted

I'm 38+2 with my first and really struggling with exhaustion today.
Went to sleep around 2/3am last night, slept until 11:44am and have had to come back to bed (2:30pm) as I feel like I physically can't function.

I've recently had my iron levels checked and they were all fine, so I know it's not anaemia.

Is this normal at this stage?

Yes it can be, sorry! However, I would recommend you get your midwife to check you over, blood pressure, urine, blood sugar just in case something else going on. But generally it's just your body getting as much rest as it can ( and the fact that when u are sleeping it doesn't tend to be a restful sleep as you are sooooo uncomfortable!!). I hope you ok. Good luck with it all xx

Thanks for your reply!
I've had raised blood pressure for the past 2 weeks so will ask my midwife if it's related x

I do hope you feel better soon but get checked over in case that blood pressure is leading into pre eclampsia. And if all ok get your feet up and just relax!!!!

Thanks :) I'll try! Xx

I'm the same. Still awake now at 2am..ill do sch run and crawl back into bed for a couple of hours. I seem to last no more than a few hours before exhaustion sets in.. Apart from the morning I don't nap. Go to bed shattered about 10.30, and can't sleep. Typical
I do have low iron tho. Recently had an iron transfusion as levels just kept dropping despite taking iron. But I don't feel much of a change yet.?

Completely normal! It gets worse, by the time i got to 40 weeks I was having 2 naps a day. On the plus side I was actually less tired with a newborn!

@IsItSummerYet2018 have lots of vitamin C. It helps your body absorb iron :) when I was anaemic in my teens, they said I should have orange juice with my tablets :)

@BrownEyes421 thanks :)

@PeachesandPie I genuinely was thinking yesterday that I'll feel more awake with the baby than I do now lol
