Hi all,

Just want to see how everyone else is doing with weight gain- or find out whether you weighed yourself regularly during pregnancy?

I’ve gained about 10 lbs so far and whilst I do have a small bump going on, i’m a bit worried that I’ve given into cravings a bit too much as I seem to be hungry all the time!

My BMI was healthy but around the top end of the scale before I got pregnant. Of course my priority is my beautiful baby girl but I don’t want to feel like a whale towards the end of pregnancy or afterwards as I find it really affects my confidence.

Anyone feel the same?

:)

I've refused to weigh myself since I've been pregnant as I know I'll just end up in floods of tears! I know for a fact I've gained it, my engagement ring doesn't fit anymore, pretty sure I've gone up a dress size too.
I have no stretch marks on my stomach (yet) but I do on my hips and legs, so my legs have got fatter lol.
Oh well, ill sort it out after. Until then I'm going to eat whatever I want, when I want! I have 7 weeks (ish) left.

I list weight in my first trimester and only started to gain it back by 19 weeks so I hadn't gained anything overall.

I've lost 7 pounds since becoming pregnant, I'm 21 weeks now. But I have had the lowest immune system ever and had tonsillitis, sinus infection, norovirus, you name it I have had it haha! I find that actually I just never fancy anything! However as I'm getting better I'll probably gain loads in the last trimester!

That sounds perfect weight gain for someone of a healthy weight before. NHS recommends 2-5 pounds in first trimester then a pound a week in second trimester, and ten pounds in third. This will obviously vary, especially for women who have hyperemises, but that is the goal for a healthy baby. Don't worry at all, just keep monitoring it, aiming for a steady oneish pounds a week. I am 24 weeks on Wednesday, and have put on 13 pounds. I was also at the upper end of healthy bmi. I have continued exercising regularly, and this helps me to feel less elephant like.

I think the overall ideal gain if you are a healthy weight to start is 25-35 lbs.
