We went to buy the cot at the weekend and ended up coming away with nothing as the shop assistant was just so confusing about mattresses. She kept contradicting herself about which was best. So any advice from you guys would be appreciated!

Hi Kitty

All the new mattresses have to meet pretty high standards so we based out decision on how thick and comfy it looked and the fact it have a removable cover that you could put in the washing machine. We got ours from mothercare and chose the spring mattress (cos we wouldn't sleep on foam!) with the CoolMaxActive (can't be too careful! DS has just moved into his bed and we got the same mattress again as he was so comfy on it (stupidly we didn't go for a cotbed!)

Hope that helps, the mothercare website has some useful guidance about choosing a mattress too.

I have heard that the Mothercare mattresses are good. I will be looking to get mine from their or Mamas and Papas with the cotbed.

I had some voucers for John Lewis and bought their sprung mattress...I rather love it. Comes with detachable cover and feels like it is good quality.
