Does low morphology cause miscarriage?

A wonderful coincidence happened last week when, on the day my husband went for a sperm test, I found out I was pregnant. We were over the moon but he got his results back today and he has 2% morphology which is very low. Now I'm terrified. I thought it was my fault we wete taking a while to conceive but this is likely a if not the reason. But I was already worried about possible mc and now I'm really really scared. Is there a link between low morphology and early miscariage? Im just under 5 weeks and time is going so slowly!! I just want to get to 7 weeks to see if there's a heart beat but I know that even then anything could happen :(

My other half had the same 2%, we had gone as far as paying for a costly Private IVF consultation on a Monday where they also scanned me and asked if period due, I said anyday and the doctor said he could tell as my womb lining really thick. He said our chances of natural conception were practically 0 as I had low egg reserve too. That Thursday I got positive test, womb lining had been thick due to being pregnant not period.
I am 34 weeks Monday. I had exact same thoughts as you though, I was worrie that as 98% sperm was of such poor quality I wondered if I would miscarry if it was a “bad one! “
We had tried so long and given up hope that I still can’t quite believe it now and I go on maternity leave next week lol
Congratulations x x

No problem. My partners sperm were really bad, in that they had head, middle and tail defects! So i thought none would ever make it. But as the count was very high I suppose 2 % of good ones out of millions is still quite a high number. The consultant we saw said to us the poor morphology speed
Wouldn’t even make it to the egg. SoThe way I thought about it was that to even get to the egg they would have to be the good swimmers out of the bad bunch.
It’s a worrying time and I know how hard it is to stay away from google!
Wishing you all the best xxx
