Early pregnancy worry...

Hi all, this is my first forum post so sorry if I get anything wrong! I’m 4w4d today and so worried about something going wrong with my pregnancy. It took us 7 months to conceive and during that time, I would spot for 3/4 days before my period. I was due to go for tests but I got my bfp before that. Super happy but also worried that whatever caused my pre-AF spotting could cause this little bean not to stick. I took Vitamin B Complex with my Pregnacare Conception for the last couple of months of ttc, but have stopped the B Complex since becoming pregnant as advised by a pharmacist. I still take Pregnacare plus. Sorry for the essay. If anyone has advice or an opinion I would appreciate it. Thank you x

I could sit here and say 'just relax you'll be fine'....But I too was really worried for weeks and weeks and weeks until I'd seen my midwife and then at my 12 week scan.

It does get easier. Well the symptoms of being pregnant probably won't lol but you will start to stress less in time.

Just look forward to your booking appointment and your first scan. If you can't wait then pay for a private early pregnancy scan and at least your mind will be at ease especially in regards to the sporting pre AF. It'll be worth it just for peace of mind.

Hope you get through the next few weeks okay xx

Addy2 · 02/02/2018 03:22

First trimester is awful with all the watching and waiting. Try and keep yourself busy and try not to think about it too much. Someone on here once advised to allow one hour per day to fixate on the pregnancy, which helped me.

I personally wouldn't do a private scan until at least 8 weeks - I've seen so many worried people on here who had an inconclusive or worrying 6 week scan and then had to wait for two weeks before finding out everything was normal. Can cause a lot of unnecessary anxiety. Good luck x

Its very early days yet but remember that some women have full periods during pregnancy so spotting is not necessarily a bad sign.

I had unusually short cycles and very short light period following coming off the pill. i got told this may hinder my chances as short cycles and less bleeding could be indicative of having less of a lining to implant into. i was pregnant 2 weeks after that appointment and am currently in early labour 36 weeks later.

Best to try and relax as much as possible.

Congrats on your pregnancy.

Hey Guys,
Even i also recently found out that am pregnant and it's 4w4d pregnant. And same experience as spotting with pinkish and chocolate brownish fluid but not a heavy flow (not even a red and nothing to collect on the pad). And the bad thing is, when urinating, i can see some pinkish cloudy stuff there in the commode. Even the HCG test strip shows a light line too. Should i worry about this and go to my Doctor or to wait until it's confirmed.

Hope18 · 02/02/2018 08:13

Hey @NishB and @Tams717
I’m also in the same sitttuation as you, I’m around 4w4d and I had spotting 2 days before AF was due (brown colour) and then I took my test on the Thursday of AF due day as she didn’t show and I got BFP. I then spotted until Sunday ( brown and a slight pink tinge on tissue)
Spoke to EPU and they said theres nothing they can do until 6-8 weeks so it is just a waiting game and to re-test at 6 weeks and if still positive to phone and they will scan me Smile
Took another test Wednesday ( around a week later ) and still positive so hoping that all will be well..
Tbh tho I usually spot before AF is due So it wasn’t abnormal for me, and it ended on Sunday so I’m hoping it was just because it was around went AF would be here.
The wait is horrible and since my MC in nov 2017 I’m just constantly checking now for red bleeding ! Wishing you all the best at this worrying stage Flowers

Tams717 · 02/02/2018 08:59

Thanks everyone for your sweet messages. It’s such a worrying time! I am constantly feeling my boobs to see if they still hurt (definitely less this morning which is freaking me out!) and checking over and over when I go to the bathroom. This has been the slowest week ever! xxx

Hi Hope18 and Tams717,
Thank you very much for your msgs too and kinda relief as we're I'm the same boat and yes...waiting us the hardest thing...I have decided to meet my GP next week...doesn't matter what the HCG strip says....want to check my womb whether it has something we can keep our hopes still..I had two miscarriages... So hope for the best....

surreygirl1987 · 02/02/2018 21:52

I'm just a day ahead of you (4w6d) and am utterly terrified! You are not alone! I'm finding it impossible to believe that this is going to actually be a baby! Ridiculous as I've been waiting for this so long I wish I could just be happy and stop worrying!!

Hope18 · 03/02/2018 09:03

Hi @surreygirl1987 how have you been feeling symptom wise ? Smile x

Tams717 · 03/02/2018 09:43

@surreygirl1987 It’s awful isn’t it, been desperate for this to happen and struggling to enjoy it now! I am trying to remind myself that so many people have babies that don’t look after themselves, some that don’t even know they are pregnant! We are doing everything we can are there is no reason for it not to work out. I know it’s hard. Feel free to message whenever you want to stress or get it all out! I know it’s hard to voice this stuff to real people :) xxx

surreygirl1987 · 03/02/2018 10:22

Thanks! I think the hardest part is not being able to talk about it with people... it's quite isolating really at a time when you need support the most! I've not told my friends or family yet and my husband is the most laid back non-worrier in the world and thinks I'm being silly! @tams717 I totally know what at you mean about being desperate for this to happen and not struggling to enjoy it... I can't get excited yet! Are you having an early scan? Totally with you on the knicker checking too... goinf to the bathroom has become stressful lol!

Symptons are coming and going... felt totally normal last week apart from breast pain but nauseaous and crampy this morning. How about you guys?

Hope18 · 03/02/2018 10:35

So this week has been a “good” week as far as we know for me and DH, No spotting and generally feeling fine.. a little bit crampy too! I’m glad to hear somebody else feels a few twinges here and there as they scare the life out of me.. Im presuming there normal? Also sorry if tmi but I’ve been having quite a bit more CM clear during the day which I then run to the toilet to check as I think every time
It’s going to be blood and it isn’t .. so scary! Still got breast pain but not feeling as bloated..

Tams717 · 03/02/2018 12:15

I have the odd twinge and also quite bad constipation cramps (sorry tmi!), a little breast soreness and I now have to get up in the night to wee which I never had to do before. Sounds daft but I kind of want morning sickness so I feel more pregnant but sure I will regret saying that if it comes! I have a GP appointment on Monday, so might ask if they can check my levels with a blood test. I also have clear cm, sometimes yellow @Hope18. From what I’ve read it’s normal xx

OP posts:
Tams717 · 03/02/2018 12:19

Also we haven’t told anyone either @surreygirl1987 - DH really doesn’t want anyone to know. I understand why and sort of agree but I’m not the kind of person to not say what’s on my mind. I’ve just been avoiding people, it’s hard not having your support network xx

NishB · 03/02/2018 12:44

Hey girls,
Hope you all doing good... Actually today morning I got nothing. No back aches , no spotting... But now am having light spotting pinkish discharge.... Kinda fed up now... Four days....

surreygirl1987 · 03/02/2018 12:48

Oh I have been having sooo much cm and I dash to the toilet every time to check the worst hasn't happened! My husband keeps reminding me that worrying can't affect the outcome anyway and it's more likely fine than not... but... you can't just not worry! I have had quite a lot of crampiness today (nothing severe) and slight nausea so hoping that's all normal... Google is no help- EVERYTHING is both normal AND a bad sign!

Yeh I'm seeing friends later and eill find it really hard not to say something... really could do with talking it through but at the same time I guess a distraction is nice. Work is an awesome distraction actually (I'm a teacher) - no time to think or worry! 😁

NishB · 03/02/2018 12:51

Since last 5 to 6 days am having cramps from my left lower abdomen and lower back... I have no idea whether it's normal.or to worry....

Tams717 · 03/02/2018 14:54

Hi @NishB, I think cramping without spotting is okay, but if you get spotting with your cramps then I would get it checked out. I guess we will always worry - too many symptoms or not enough xx

BlueMermaid96 · 03/02/2018 15:01

Hi! Congrats to start with!
But have no fear. Spotting is one sign of implantation bleeding, it can be a bit overwhelming. I lost my little cub August at 6 weeks but carried them for a further 6/7 weeks. Bleeding was heavy and I knew it was wrong.
But you just need to stay positive, it's a brand new experience & I'm sure that your little bean will be strong enough!
You're at the stage of implantation bleeding, i'm 5w+2d and ive only just started with mine. It can range, I suggest you get the bounty app, it tells you more information about it :)
Just relax & keep up with the folic acid!
Chickpea's are really good too ;)

NishB · 03/02/2018 15:10

Girls...just started bright red spotting...I know....no point of keeping hopes further.... Another lost...3 to my count. Wishing all moms and babies....loads of love, bless of God...and strength.... xoxoxo

NishB · 03/02/2018 15:12

And Thank you mommy BlueMermaid96.....you'll be a good mom to your baby....my blesses and wishes always with you...and same wishes to you Tams717....

Hope18 · 03/02/2018 16:23

@nishB don’t be too worried some
Small amounts of red can be normal too ?? Don’t count yourSelf out yet Hun ?? They might be able to get you in for early scan ?
@surreygirl1987 I know what you mean about wanting to talk to someone other than DH In real I’m a nursery nurse and work keeps me busy too !!
Google is a nightmare wish it could give a definate answer to all my questions 😂
Hello again @bluemermaid96 I do hope your getting on ok, any new symptoms to report ? X

BlueMermaid96 · 03/02/2018 17:42

@NishB
It is also normal to bleed during some pregnancies, I've read it alot on the bounty app. It can happen, but call the 111 team and tell them what's happening. Just breathe, okay? It is hard, it is emotional but you are a very strong women. Let us know what they say! I can guarantee you all of us are here for you however many miles away we are. I'm not out of the woods yet lovely but be positive.
@Hope18 Hello you! Just the light pink stuff for me, the usual cramping. I live in student accommodation in my own studio flat & I can smell takeaway from down the hall which is making me slightly jealous. Good to hear from you x

Hope18 · 03/02/2018 18:11

@nishB Defo all here for you Hun Flowers
@bluemermaid96 yeah I’m
Not out of the woods yet either.. it’s a rough time waiting isn’t it !
Mmm takeaway I’m actually off for a Chinese/Thai meal for my friends 30th tonight ! Nom nom hehe
I literally hate cramps though, just sent to worry us and keep us on edge I believe ! X

BlueMermaid96 · 03/02/2018 18:28

@Hope18 oh man, I am so jealous right now! I've wanted chinese for days now!
It is a waiting game and it is on the edge waiting so long for a scan just to reassure us! I asked for a early scan, but here you have to have had 3 mcs to have one unless you pay how much... We should stay in contact! Hope the meal is as delicious as it sounds!x
