Hi SKM, Congratulations!

I didn't feel pregnant this early either. I was really hoping for a little bump, or a bit of nausea just to make it a bit more real.

Just relax and enjoy it. You will feel and look pregnant eventually, and near to the end you'll be fed up with it!

hana · 29/07/2004 10:25

Congratulations SKM! I think you're one of the lucky ones....at 8 weeks I spend about 3 weeks on the sofa or in the toilet bowl.....enjoy it! You'll get big soon enough

libb · 29/07/2004 10:28

I know what you mean, I had it far too easy being pregnant, the only thing that gave away my situation was the bump - naturally I am now worrying that DS will be the devil incarnate as he gets older!

Congratulations and I hope you have continued good luck!

Angeliz · 29/07/2004 10:30

I had no sickness with dd. AWFUL heartburn later on though.
I am a little queesy from time to time with this one but not much now.

Guess you are lucky

SKM · 29/07/2004 10:37

libb · 29/07/2004 10:43

Blimey, I had forgotten all about the sore boobs and headaches early on and the heartburn later on !

Staceyk · 29/07/2004 11:21

SKM I know exaclty how you feel, I don't have any symptoms at all, except tiredness, and think thats just cos I am not sleeping through worry.
I think it's cos I was ttcing for so long, I don't quiet believe it, I mentioned earlier in the week, I'm floating around threads from ttc to see how everyone getting on (and I could be back there) to Pregnancy (still not believing) and on the miscarriage threads (in case) I know it's crazy I am desperate for some signs. Luckily enough I am going for a scan tomorrow (9-10wks) where hopefully mind put at rest and get definate date? Will let you all know.

SKM · 29/07/2004 11:41

Hi StaceyK,
Thanks u really have put my mind at rest, i am tired and I do keep getting headaches, I can't wait to have a scan just so I know its definatley there, I thought pregnancy would be amazing so far its been very confusing and stressful, how far arE you

Unfortunately SKM pregnancy is mostly confusing and stressful, especially this early on, but there are plenty of people here to help if anything is worrying you. It gets easier and even quite enjoyable for about 4 months in the middle, then it gets hard work again IME. Feeling really exhausted, especially in the afternoon was my main early symptom so you sound quite normal, just lucky not to be feeling sick.
The wonderful bit is to come - that's having the baby

Staceyk · 29/07/2004 12:06

Gawd knows how I put your mind at rest SKM, I can't put my own mind at rest, don't think I will until I'm holding my little bubs (please God).
I had a scan on 16th July as a favour from my fertility specialist really, and she thought 7-8 weeks, but didn't really go into detail, was just confirming I was pg really, so tomorrow should be 9 or 10 wks, and get date.
Then will be the long wait for the 12 wks scan, looking forward to that bit, at least then can tell people, I'm so scared we honestly haven't told a soul, which is very hard.
You're right though I thought ttc was stressful, but that was nothing compared to this!

SKM · 29/07/2004 12:57

I'vetold everybody I couldn't help it!!!

OP posts:
Staceyk · 29/07/2004 13:24

Oh my God! Part of me thinks if anything goes wrong then I'll prob want support anyway, but I feel like it's tempting fate for me. So have decided to wait no matter how hard.

I'm trying to stay away from most people in case they guess, ie not drinking and gone from 30-40 fags a day to none (not easy) my colleague at work has noticed I'm not smoking and I've just said trying to only smoke at home!!!

SKM · 29/07/2004 15:50

I'm still smoking I can't help it, Awful I know!!

highlander · 29/07/2004 20:47

there you go SKM - tiredness!!

I had sore boobs until about 10 weeks, the occasional vague feeling of nausea, but nothing else. IKWYM - I was convinced I was going to miscarry cos I didn't have my head permanently down the loo!

Just you wait til he starts kicking!

Please, please, please stop smoking.

sportyspice · 29/07/2004 20:55

Second time around i didn't have sore boobs or sickness until about 8 weeks and then i felt very sick and headachey, everyone is different so don't worry.

SKM · 30/07/2004 14:50

BUMP!! ANYONE GOT ANYTHING TO ADD,

OP posts:
MoseGirl · 06/08/2004 10:53

Me too SKM, no symptoms apart from cramps later in the day (hope they aren't a bad sign) and tiredness

SKM · 06/08/2004 11:43

Hi Moosegirl,
I feel totally normal, worrying isn't it? can't wait to have that scan, have you seen the midwife yet???

OP posts:
katierocket · 06/08/2004 11:54

I didn't have any symptoms when I was pregnant with DS, no nausea at all. Do try not to worry.

Bakedbean · 06/08/2004 11:56

I didn't have any real symptoms either. Felt a bit more tired in the evening but I felt exactly like you - just wanted to feel sick so I knew everything was ok! I'm 18 weeks now and still my DH asks 'if I feel any different?'. Well I don't really - apart from the ever growing bump! Everyone is different - please don't worry!

MoseGirl · 06/08/2004 13:21

What could the cramping be? Has anyone experienced this or know of anyone who did?

What happens when you m/c? (sorry I sound so negative and don't mean to be - v happy really )

SKM · 06/08/2004 13:23

Surely something should be differant, I must admit I have felt tired and had some headaches, been eating like a pig, but that could all be psychological. I've noticed little white dots around my nipples, but they seem to come and go, and could of been there before.

OP posts:
Bakedbean · 06/08/2004 14:21

I had cramps in my sides fairly early on. My nurse (I had IVF) had warned me about these. As it was my first pregancy, your uterus starts stretching fairly early on to accommodate. She described it as being like two galley ropes pulling it from side to side! I know I worried about what cramps caused what - was it me miscarrying, was it an eptopic, etc. I was told an eptopic was focused on one side and didn't go away if you just rested and if you were miscarrying it was likely it would be lower down and also sometimes accompanied by spotting.

HTH!

MoseGirl · 06/08/2004 14:53

Thanks Bakedbean that is a great reassurance to me, I am such an old worrier

BTW what does HTH mean?

SKM · 06/08/2004 15:03

HTH = HOPE THIS HELPS
