When did everyone start wearing maternity clothes?

Which are the best ones? Both in regards to comfort and prettiness..

With my first pregnancy I didn't need them at all, I just used to tie my jeans using a hair bobble to give an extra couple of inches and then wore long vests to make sure nobody could see my jeans were undone! Most of my tops are loose-ish anyway, so my bump just tested their limits ;) I'd say don't go crazy on buying too much until you know what you need (when things actually stop fitting, rather than buying in advance).

I'm imagining this time round, as my muscle tone is...not what it was!, I'll need them, but not sure when. I've been looking at the H&M range, and it looks nice and I hear good things about it, so when I come to needing things, I think I'll be trying those first :)

I got most of mine from h&m they were very reasonable price wise and good quality. I was about 27 weeks before I started wearing maternity clothes before that I could get away with bigger tops and leggings. Congratulations Thanks

I just went up a size at first for jeans. But then at 18-20 weeks I gave it up and got maternity tights, yoga pants and leggings. Tops I'm just wearing long ones I already own and A line dresses are still fine at 23 weeks (first babies but twins).

H&M! Cheap and they last well. I’m still wearing a pair of the jeans as they’re soooo comfy (dd is 13months 😂)

H&M are fab fab! I also liked new look last time too.

I was pregnant over the summer last time so I bought midi dresses from primark in the size above what I would usually wear and these were great!

I tended to buy stretchier clothes until around the 30 week mark when I've had to buy actual maternity clothes. Although I did treat myself to a pair of maternity jeans and leggings earlier, prob around 25 weeks.

I started wearing maternity jeans between 14-18 weeks and wore a lot of my own looser tops.
My favourite maternity clothes for comfort and style were from H&M. I bought some plain maternity t shirts and primary t shirts in big sizes and wore them with nice cardigans that I already had

I started wearing maternity jeans at about 22 weeks. They are soooooo comfy, especially the over bump kind, which make you feel all secure and protected and draught free. I don't think I'll want to go back to normal ones afterwards!
EBay is brilliant. You can get excellent quality clothes (Jojomaman etc) at a fraction of the price. They will only have been worn for a short while too so lots are nearly new.
Also love bump bands, they mean you can carry on wearing normal tops for ages and are lengthening and flattering too imo.
