No hiccups!

My first got hiccups regularly, and I was told that's a good thing because it means they were practising breathing.

Now 30 weeks with number 2 and not a hiccup in sight :( - although I do have an anterior placenta this time.

Do some babies not hiccup? Is that ok? Worrying a bit about it!

Some babies don’t hiccup, some you just don’t feel hiccuping, your anterior placenta might dull the sensation... plus you’re 30 weeks, baby still has some room so you might not feel it yet.

No need to panic, I promise!

I didn't feel any hiccups until 32 weeks.

I don't know that I felt them much before 30 weeks. And I don't know I felt them much at all with my first (she was an anterior placenta). I feel them much more this time, but only since early 3rd tri. I have a posterior placenta this time. Maybe it makes a difference? I think it's quite likely it's just still early for you.

I don’t think it is linked to breathing. Dc1 has hiccups and terrible reflux. Dc2 has no hiccups and no reflux. So based on my anecdotal data, that’s what I link it to! 😂

DC1&2 hiccupped all the time, DC3 didn't at all.
