Hey Everyone

Sorry if this is in the wrong place I have no idea where Im meant to be posting! Im excited but nervous to say Im 6 weeks pregnant with my first baby, Ive got congested womb / uterus syndrome which is rare in people who haven't had a child before. It's taken about 3 operations and 4 years to get to this point.

When I first took my test, I thought I felt pregnant but it was negative and I was quite disappointed and set the test down on the bathroom side but then without sounding weird my dog was really interested in the test, wagging her tail and sniffing the toilet after Id weed. She's never behaved like this before, I came downstairs and said to my other half that the test was negative but even the dog thought we were pregnant!
Later I went back to the bathroom and the test had turned positive, I thought it was an evap line because it had been a couple of hours, but thought Id try a digital test anyway just to double check and that came back pregnant! so my dog was right!

I guess Im here because Id love to know two things, does anyone else on here have congested womb / uterus syndrome? I feel like nobody else has it and Id love to have some advice on pregnancy and the condition.

Also can I check with you guys Ive been told that eating for two when pregnant is a myth, but I have been so hungry these last few days and when Im not eating Ive been getting nauseous, Im not a big eater usually ( 9 stone 5"3) but Ive been eating like a horse and Im now 9 stn 6!

Dogs can sniff out cancer and high blood sugar, so why not pregnancy?!

I'm afraid I don't know about your health condition, which I hope is not as painful as it sounds.

On the morning sickness/appetite thing - one of the only helpful things I have ever found for morning sickness is to feed it - ie. don't let yourself get hungry, just eat whenever you need to. I put on a crap tonne of weight in the first trimester and it does even out as long as you go back to eating more normally when you feel well again. My midwife was very supportive of the approach and not at all concerned by the weight gain!

No advice but what a nice story about your dog! Smile

On the whole eating for two thing, they say no additional calories necessary until final trimester and then increase by only 200! Not a lot really!

I know i’ve Never been able to stick to those guidelines though, I always gained loads!

Thanks guys, I just feel nervous because eating is the only way to stop myself feeling ill but Im worried I will gain weight too fast and be uber pregnant looking early or/and then work will suss Im pregnant before Im ready to say I am ( I also work with 3 women who are very into careers and think babies are an inconvenience so its going to be interesting when I tell them, currently they keep referring to me as one of them not realising Ive just struggled to get pregnant!)

My dog does have a very good nose, she pinpoint a leg shaving cut through my jeans with her nose and if I try to hide her treats in a draw even if she hasnt seen me put them there she will sit by the draw, Im pretty sure she knew :)

Loose clothing is your friend if you’re trying to hide your pregnancy from colleagues.

Mine all guessed really quickly though, because I looked pretty green around the gills!
