Is there any sign of infection in the belly button itself? Discharge, crusting, redness?

If so, book a GP appt and get that sorted out. If not, it's probably a consequence of your muscles and ligaments stretching to accommodate baby and is harmless.

So I called my midwife who wasn’t available as usual but spoke to someone else who was there and she told me if I had a belly button piercing it may be infected, told her I did but I removed it weeks and weeks ago and it’s not Infected the pain is inside. So Iv booked an app to see my midwife this morning, so this morning I was getting ready and my partner told me to push and tense my belly to see if my belly button popped out, it did and it stuck out quite far, as I relaxed my belly button made a gurgle noise. We were both shocked so I did it again to be sure the noise came from my belly button and it certainly did! Now I’m freaked out!! I see my midwife in half an hour but I’m worried does anyone know what it is?

Might be an umbilical hernia - I've got one, it came on in my second pregnancy. Make a GP appointment or get your midwife to take a look. Mine DC is 9 months now and I still have the hernia. It's not often sore anymore but it does pop out and I have to push it back in which makes a squelch! I will see the GP about it at some stage - think sometimes they operate to repair it depending on how bad it is.

All the best

Ah just seen you're seeing your midwife today. Talk to her. Definitely sounds just like my hernia though. Don't be freaked out, even though it is freaky!!

Thank you, how many weeks were you when it came on? Does it get worse as the pregnancy progresses?

It was Christmas Eve and baby was born in April so five months pregnant. It didn't get any worse while I was pregnant. Did get quite uncomfortable after baby was born - while organs all moving back where they belong I think! Spoke to GP then who said to wait six months to let things settle then get in touch again. It's been nine months now and must admit haven't been back to GP because it doesn't bother me too much. Will prob get it sorted when little one is bigger.

Hope your appointment goes well x

My midwife took a looo but didn’t touch and said well it’s not red so I’m not worried. I left feeling like she didn’t listen to me so I called up MAU and they have said it could indeed be a hernia and I must see a gp today so I have an app in 2 hours. My morning isn’t going to well at all 😔
