I'm 16 weeks and I'm a community carer but I don't do a heavy work shit and only do 14 hours a week but I'm so scared to tell work that I'm expecting ! I was planning on telling them maybe when I get to about 20-25 weeks. Are they allowed to just get rid of me?

Legally you must tell them before 25 weeks pregnant however as soon as you tell them they need to carry out a risk assessment to ensure that you and your unborn child are safe.

They can't legally get rid of you no, however are you on your probation, 0 hour contract etc?

I'm on a zero hour contract yes and I was aiming to tell them just before 25 weeks as I'll have enough money saved up for little one would happily tell them now but don't want to run the risk of loosing my job

You can't loose your job for being pregnant however be aware that they could cut your hours and blame it on not having the work to give you. Make sure you document everything including when you tell them you are pregnant and risk assessments etc.

Read up on your maternity pay/leave rights first as if they think you are naive they may try and play on that. This is very rare though and you won't have been the first pregnant person that has worked there so it should all go fine :)
