Lots of vitamin C (1000-1500 mg), zinc (up to the recommended maximum, you probably already have some in your pregnancy vitamins if you're taking them) and echinacea. It works miracles and usually stops my cold within about 24 hours.

If it's any help, I've heard a couple of midwives saying that if a woman has a bad cold or something, she's less likely to go into labour - maybe it's nature's way of making sure if you have got a cold your newborn needs to avoid, he simply won't turn up for a few days...?

Disclaimer: this is backed up by absolutely NO real knowledge, other than 'they say'!

Hahaa 🙈 oh great! I hope thats not true he needs to come out! I dont have a bad cold (yet) just a stuffy itchy nose atm.

Remember too that baby will be born with some protection from your own immune system, and will be further protected by colostrum and breastmilk.

Poor thing, no advice but check with your midwife before you take high dose vitamin c, I know there was some evidence it can cause miscarriages in high doses, but it's probably not an issue at term, but just double check if you decide to take that. Hope you feel better soon.
