My son is 5 and we went swimming. He loves bump, 25 weeks. He was diving down and kissing baby under the water. Then turned and lashed out to swim away, with quite a hefty kick in my tummy. It hurt at the time and I did quite a loud 'oof.'

It's probably that I'm surprised by the mixed feelings the incident caused but middle of the night stupid thoughts had me briefly wondering about baby being kicked badly in the head (no idea why the head) and then a bleed. Ive felt movement today, no huge kicks but I don't every day yet due to which way he's turned.

I'm sure it's fine, would just like reassurance or experience! Luckily seeing the mw later anyway.

Just had a larger kick so probably worrying over nothing...

Morning! I'm not a midwife but if your baby is moving around, it sounds like s/he is okay. They're pretty well protected in there :) Hope the midwife confirms all is well and your mind is put to rest.

Thanks, yes active baby and a Hb, no blood but she did say it could have been an Issue if my blood type was a certain sort, which it isn't (can't remember what!)

Similar happened to me when pregnant with my youngest, I was tickling my eldest and then came the biggest gut wrenching (but very accidental) kick I’ve ever felt. But baby was fine, midwife says this type of thing happens more often than you’d think.
Doesn’t half feel like a blow though! But baby is well protected

Thanks! It was a proper blow. But I'm sure all is fine :)

When I was pregnant I tried to close a retractable umbrella and it shot out and the handle smacked me in the bump, I did have to go to the hospital but that's because my blood is rhesus negative and I had to have the anti d injection, babies are pretty well protected

More than likely totally fine but if you've had a bleed I would nip in and get it checked out.
