Protein shakes in pregnancy/breastfeeding?

All the way through my pregnancy (currently 33 weeks) I’ve craved the diet mint chocolate whey protein I used to have. No idea why. I’ve seen so many mixed reviews and nothing set in stone, did anyone have protein shakes during pregnancy or breastfeeding? Would have thought it was great with the sickness and for milk production but don’t know if it’s safe. Would have to take lactase pills as well as I’m lactose intolerant but soy protein is the devil.

Thanks in advance!

Theres nothing technically bad in it. You could eat loads of chicken and get the same amount of protein.

True, my worry was the added vitamins as I know too much of some can be dangerous to baby and I already still take pregnacare, b12, iron and folic acid for medical reasons. Never see my midwife so can’t ask her

One or two is probably fine. I might not start having them every day or multiple times a day or replacing meals with them. But usually if you just enjoy something you really want, the craving does away anyway.
