2 Vessel Cord

Hi everyone.
Had my 20 week scan a few weeks ago and everything looked great. Read my report recently and have noticed 'cord: 2 vessels'.

Contacted my midwife and she's referring me for an appointment with an obstetric doctor. I assume I'll have more ultrasounds to check the growth and the kidneys etc.

Has anyone else had any experience of this? I'm kind of level headed about it but also find myself worrying every now and then. Trying not to Google too much!

I had a 2 vessel cord on my first baby. Was given extra scans to check for growth but she was perfectly healthy when born. There were no problems at all.

I had a two vessel cord on DC1 - nobody even mentioned it to me until after I'd delivered the placenta, even then it was only in passing when they handed me my discharge notes! I drove myself mad googling potential problems - he's absolutely fine though. Good luck with your pregnancy and birth
