I'm vomiting violently up to twenty times a day since week 6, only on week 8 now & I feel like I'm never going to feel human again. My mother suffered terribly with

Speak to your gp. There is a hyperemesis support thread on here. Ignore anyone who says a) you are overreacting and b) thinks this is a morning thing. Also ignore anyone who says it's a trend ffs.

Please see your GP. I suffered but not as bad as that and mine was bad. I took Avomine tablets over the counter travel sickness tablets on advice from my doctor which helped a bit.

Definitely see your GP as it sounds like Hyperemesis. You are at risk of dehydration if you can not eat and drink regularly. I suffered with it real bad when was pregnant with my twins and only anti sickness injections were the answer at the end. Just remember most cases of Hyperemesis improve by 4th / 5th month of pregnancy. Best of luck to you 🤞

Hi I'm afraid my message cut off & I'm not sure how to edit.
I've been to the doctor & they've given me tablets but they just aren't doing anything!
I'm at my wits end because I've only just started my job two months & I'm in the bathroom more often than at my desk & can barely string a sentence together. My manager knows & is sympathetic but I can tell she's getting frustrated.
My mother suffered from HG badly & ended up getting a three month line & was unable to leave her bed & she's said herself that I'm worse than she ever wasSad

tabby what type of tablets are you on? There are range of options available to you if they don't work. Treatment has moved on since your Mother's Day.

I vomited up the first lot of tablets I was given but I found a combination that works for me. Most people take anti sickness tablets and ant acids possibly with vitamins as well.

With the amount you are being sick you are at risk of dehydration. You can monitor your ketones but if you have difficulty keeping liquids down you need to go to hospital where they can give you fluids and possibly also IV meds.

Come over to the hyperemersis thread someone more knowledgable than me will be able to give you advice about treatment. Early pregnancy is the worst time, it will get easier.

Umakemefeellikedancing · 30/01/2018 07:38

I really don't think you should be working when you are as bad as this.

whateveryouknow · 30/01/2018 07:45

Tabby you need to go to hospital by the sound of it. You need an IV line and injectable antiemetic. If you are getting worse don't delay as it's dangerous for you and your baby. Good luck, I feel your pain. 👍

Tipmeupandpourmeout · 30/01/2018 07:45

I was signed off work for a few months with hyperemesis in the end. I went to my gp about 6 or 7 times and was given different medicines before I ended up on ondansetron which helped the most.

tabbycat985 · 30/01/2018 08:29

I'm on my second batch of tablets, these are called cyclizine, I can't remember the name of the first ones I'm afraid.
I have been to the hospital twice & been sent home with tablets & both times been told I am not dehydrated & I'm scared to go again in case they think I'm just overreacting but I've genuinely never been so ill!

You are not overreacting. It's horrible. I could only eat lettuce and carrot advancing to hummus and oat cakes. You need to find strategies for managing it. Go on the hyperemesis thread on here. Duchess of Cambridge has it but she had a team of whatevers to help her. It does pass but it is horrible,

gussyfinknottle · 30/01/2018 08:54

Not carrot, cucumber. I was desperate to get some kind of fluids in me.

Bananarama12 · 30/01/2018 09:02

Oh I feel for you, I could only eat really cold strawberries and pineapple and the odd rice cake. And that was up to about 16 weeks. Hope you feel normal again soon Flowers
