Differences between usual discharge and mucous plug. 38+5

I've read that the loss of the mucous plug doesn't always have to be bloody. I've had heavy discharge for a week or so now, and just wondered if anyone could tell me how I'd know the difference?

It is my second baby should know better! but I was induced first time round and plug didn't go till I was on the delivery ward!

I suppose, is it just obvious when the plug goes or a slow loss of discharge like I've had? Grateful for any insight!

Following! I think I'm possibly losing mine in bits because I have had snotty discharge but without the blood. I read an article on the baby centre app which showed examples and not all plugs are bloody which I never knew before, also my second baby. I'm not sure if it can come away though slowly over the space of weeks or if it's normally within a day or so?

I've had snotty discharge for a few weeks on and off now, still not sure if im expecting a massive obvious blob when i actually lose the plug or whether it will just continue like this?
