Labour or not?

With my daughter I went into labour on my due date with strong unmistakable contractions.

I’m now 40+ 6 with this one and for 3 days have had nearly constant mild period type pains but these haven’t built to anything. I’ve not felt ‘right’ but can’t pinpoint anything and baby is moving fine. At 40 weeks I had a sweep which mw seemed to think was successful. I’ve suffered with terrible PGP in this pregnancy and I’m now totally fed up with being in near constant pain.
Should I ring day assessment and ask to be checked or do you think this is all very normal for thIs stage of pregnancy?

Certainly could be early labour which can take days sometimes. For me I was in early labour for a day and a half which felt like period pains with the occasional strong BH. A friend of mine was in early labour for 3 days after she got a sweep.

However if you ever feel worried or want a bit of expert advice, pick up the phone and ask the MWs. They honestly won't mind as they would much prefer you and baby to be all okay.

Thank you! I rang the Day unit and they said it sounds very normal but have offered to check me over which is a bit of a relief. X
