High HCG levels?

Hi, I got my bfp on 20th jan .. I thought I was either 3+5 or 4 weeks .. I was more swayed towards 3+5 due to my bbt chart. I took a test 2 days later and again another 2 days later. They were all VERY dark. I've just took a clear blue weeks prediction and got 3+ .. I was only expecting 2-3 and possible 3+ if I took one tomorrow as I'm sure I'm only 4+6 today. If I have my dates correct could this possibly mean twins if my levels are higher ? I had an early miscarriage in September and I never had a dark BFP

I don't think there's a verified link to twins.

Maybe those tests were early in the batch produced so the ink is stronger, or your urine was more concentrate.

Ignore your bbt chart, they calculate from first day of last period until you get your dating scan.

NorthernLurker · 28/01/2018 16:10

The only thing that the tests show is that you are definitely pregnant. Congratulations.

Intelinside · 28/01/2018 16:15

Stop testing, you'll drive yourself mad and you'll just need to exercise patience now!

Thanks . If I go from first day of last period then I'd be 5 weeks tomorrow which I had thought anyway .

Sime people do just produce a lot of HCG. My HCG results were highlighted in both pregnancies at the 12 week screening as they were so high. I also had to go to the EPU with DD2 due to early bleeding. There was only an empty sac visible in the scan as it was too early to see anything else but the nurse was surprised as my HCG levels were so high. Both singleton pregnancies x

Rtmhwales · 28/01/2018 18:07

Mine were insanely high. Just a singleton but ended up with severe morning sickness (HG). Good luck!

Kkk87 · 28/01/2018 18:19

Thanks everyone .. ahh @Rtmhwales I hope I dont get that. Can you remember when it started ?

My levels were really high really early and I'm currently 28+3 with twins
Saying that I had no morning sickness and my last pregnancy with just one was actually far worse

I got 1-2 at 10 dpo and 3+ on 14dpo!! That’s exactly 4 weeks and it was saying I was a whole week further then I had a blood test and my levels should have been around 700 going from my last blood test and they came back over 4000, I was sent for a scan and just one baby, I’m 16 weeks now and still just one baby

Kkk87 · 28/01/2018 20:42

Wow @Nikki2ol6 that is high ..
ah how lovely @jcsc

I got 2-3 weeks when I was 4+2 (so 2-3 was correct) and it turned out to be twins. So no massive hcg boost.

NimbleKnitter · 28/01/2018 22:14

Different people's HCG levels rise at different rates - some people are fast out of the blocks, some are slower starters.

It is a good sign of a healthy pregnancy - but you can't deduce how many

I had really high hcg (blood test showed levels) before my period was due, when I was pregnant with twins. I felt much worse (tiredness, sickness) than with a singleton pregnancy, and showed earlier.
