Losing your mucous plug

Think I’ve just lost my plug. Tinged with blood? Normal? First baby haha, hence the panic. Just cried slightly as I had a massive shooting pain prior.

Yes, completely normal. I never lost mine with my first as far as I knew (nothing that looked like one ever came out in one go anyway), but sometimes they don't come away in one piece. How far along are you? Wondering if I'll lose one this time.

38 weeks tomorrow. Think it’s been coming away over the past few days but first time it’s had blood streaks. Very faint and not much.

Should look snotty almost (sorry if tmi!) and usually tinged with pink blood. Mine started coming out about two weeks before I gave birth.

NorthernLurker · 27/01/2018 22:34

Blood streaks is normal. Has the pain stopped?

Grimmfebruary · 27/01/2018 22:41

It’s coming and going but I’ve been having cramp type pains on and off for over a week.

Ok sounds like things are limbering up. If you start to bleed seek advice. Baby moving ok?

Grimmfebruary · 27/01/2018 23:12

I will do :) thanks for your advice! Yeah he’s been wriggling about as normal.

That's good. Contrary to what people sometimes say, a baby shouldn't slow down movement before labour starts. Anything changes with that, seek advice.

Grimmfebruary · 28/01/2018 12:34

He’s still wriggling away and I’m still losing bits of my plug. Could be a while before he arrives yet haha.
