Nearly 6 weeks pregnant excercise?

Well I found out a week ago today I'm 6 weeks pregnant on Sunday. But I'm wondering despite being extremely tired not just due to this but I have medical problems too the meds make me tired aswell. I want to at least move and do some form of excercise only gentle. Is it best to wait until I'm out of the risky zone before I go doing yoga? I'm new to all this so have no idea what's good what isn't.

At 6 weeks i felt the same wanting to make sure I moved a little but having very little energy and really I just made sure I walked lots, I know it doesn't sound like exercise at all but making sure that everyday 1 get 10,000 steps or more in feels like I've done something atleast.

I'm 11 weeks now and have just managed to go back to the gym for the first time today although still taking the cardio slow. It doesn't help that I was really sick just before becoming pregnant (with pneumonia) so I really had no energy at all for a while but it does seem to be lifting now.

That's sounds like an idea I'm not a big fitness person but I enjoyed yoga I just don't know my limits and what I can and can't do. Did you just do alot of walking in the first trimester then? I might try that as I just feel lazy I know it's not being lazy but I just don't want to become a couch potato after all we arnt ill.

Did you get back ache around this time? As I have and I don't know if it's normal? I keep thinking the worst all the time at the moment so I'm trying to distract myself. Thanks again

You can do whatever you did before. It won't harm the baby. I know it's not what you asked for exercise wise but I'm almost 3rd trimester and still doing hiit and circuits. I honestly think keeping active has helped me avoid the aches and pains which seem so common. Exercise is so good for you and if you want something gentle thinhs like walking, swimming, yoga and body balance classes are all good options.

It is generally safe to continue with most exercise you're used to, just avoid anything with risk of falls or any contact sports where you could be hit in the stomach. Exercise has many benefits for both mum and baby.

Definitely get clarification on the yoga thing, I have seen posters on other boards say it should be avoided until 2nd trimester.

Oh thank you for that info I will wait and just do some walking for now.. Better to be safe than sorry.
