Cramping at 36 weeks

Had cramping and very uncomfortable back pain for about a week now. I was induced with my first so don't really know what things progressing on their own feels like.. but when labour did start with DD ALL my contractions were in my back..so it worries me a bit that I'm in so much discomfort with my back. Baby's still moving lots and it's not unbearable so il wait to speak to my MW at my appointment on Monday but asking for experience, if you had this type of feeling at 36 weeks was it just the ache of being heavily pregnant or did things soon progress?

I've had cramping like this and low back pain and pressure on and off since 35 weeks. My understanding is that if it doesn't quickly progress, it's likely just baby settling and engaging and your body getting ready. You're just more likely to feel it second time around. My first came naturally on the early side (37 weeks). So I was entirely prepared that this one might come even earlier, so the cramping and pressure did panic me at only 35 weeks (only had one afternoon of cramping with my first and went into labour a few days later). But so far, it's been 2 weeks and I've not gone into labour. The past couple days I've actually had some intense evenings of cramping, BH, low back pressure, but still nothing. I honestly though last night something might have been starting up. But so far nothing. So more than likely it's just your body getting ready and baby settling, but keep an eye on it.

I’ve just been for monitoring at the hospital for similar (am 35 weeks and classed as high risk) but they said it is just Braxton Hicks . Always worth checking out though if you are at all concerned- they won’t mind!
