Crib or cot

I was just wondering if anyone put their newborn straight into a cot rather than a crib or Moses basket?
I was just thinking that my previous children weren't in their vote for more than 3 months and we could fit a cot at a squeeze in our room so do you think baby would be ok going straight in to it?

Xx

I'm having twins and putting them both in one cot for first 5/6 months (as long as it'll last).

I didn't use a moses basket with my first and won't with this one either. We attached a sidecar full size cot to our bed and used that for a year, which worked much better (also nicer because it was flush with our mattress, so I could be close to her and keep an eye on, not a separate space I couldn't see into from bed). For daytime naps, she slept in the wrap or in the pushchair when we were out anyway so never needed anything we could bring downstairs.

My baby went straight into a cot in our bedroom, it was fine!

My baby has a bednest attached to the bed and a sleepyhead. He also has the option of a cot as he has a hand me down from his older brother.

The only place he will sleep is on me 🙄.

Brilliant I think I'll just go straight into the cot then x

I will be using a secondhand crib for the first few months and then use a cot bed.

There isn't enough space in my bedroom to fit a full sized cot and a cot bed turns into a toddler bed, so is better value long term.

Yes that's what I thought, it'd be better to go straight for the cotbed x mine just didn't stay in the crib for very long x I just wondered if they'd be to tiny to go straight in x
