Cervical Cerclage In 2nd Pregnancy?

Hi all - I have just found out I'm pregnant again, I already have a 19 month old.
In my early 20's I had LLETZ treatment which has left me with quite a short cervix.
In my last pregnancy I had a stitch as I was measuring borderline between 2.1 and 2.6cm (didn't have it until 16/17 weeks as nobody scanned me even though it was on my notes but that's a different story!). I had to spend 3 days in hospital afterwards as I had a lot of bleeding and cramping but eventually all was well.
Does anyone know if this means I will definitely have to have a stitch this time?
TBH I think I would rather have it but I am dreading having to fight for it. I am 40 this year, I was admitted to hospital 3 times in my last pregnancy, had HG and post delivery pre-eclampsia and am a bag of nerves as it is. I just don't want to have another risk factor to worry about.
I can't imagine my cervix has magically regenerated - does that even happen?!

I don't think it regenerates, it's more than likely that you'll have to have a stitch again. I've been told I'll have to have one for every pregnancy after a preterm deliver and then loss of my baby in my first pregnancy!

I was told the same thing - that I would need a preventative stitch at somewhere around 14 weeks in any subsequent pregnancies (after an emergency stitch in my first pregnancy).

Though maybe it’s different as I had an “incompetent cervix” which means it’s dynamic, could be different for a short cervix though I imagine I makes sense to do the same as last time.
