What do first "kicks" feel like?

Hi there I'm 18+2 and haven't felt any sort of movement at all yet (first DC and 2 MCs) so not really sure what I'm looking for.

Last night I started to feel little tweaks around my belly button area, sometimes they were quite sharp and one felt like a "pop" but it mainly feels sharp.

I can't seem to differentiate! As I've had 2 MCs I can't wait for movements as I know they'll really reassure me. When did you first start to feel movement and what did it feel like? Thank you!

With my three it felt like bubbles popping. Lower down than my belly button though.

Like tiny explosions in your belly

GaraMedouar · 24/01/2018 15:11

Yes, definitely starts off feeling like gas, a slight gurgling in the tummy.

redexpat · 24/01/2018 15:15

Mine felt like a fart bubble on the inside.

DecoysBitch · 24/01/2018 15:18

Like a little tickle, from the inside :)

Glitterspy · 24/01/2018 15:19

Feels like wind - that stick/release feeling.

BuckysRoboticArm · 24/01/2018 15:20

Mine began like the tip of a finger very very gently prodding from the inside. Also remember describing them as a bubble popping. It was lovely. I used to lay down on bed in the quiet (just a fan on) drink some orange juice and just wait and feel. The first time I didn't know what it was and assumed it was gas though.

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

When I was pregnant with DS, I remember reading all about bubbles popping, and butterflies fluttering etc but the first time I felt a kick (around 18 weeks) it felt exactly like...being kicked from inside by a very tiny person! I may have missed those earlier flutterings I suppose but there was no mistaking that first kick.

Spam88 · 24/01/2018 15:29

I agree with freaky, mine just felt like little taps from inside. Really low down though, but I had an anterior placenta so that might be why.

I'll just say though, I think the kicks made things more stressful for me. They're so inconsistent at first that I spent the first few weeks after I first felt her worrying because I hadn't felt her all morning.

CL1982 · 24/01/2018 16:04

I missed mine as i have IBS. So basically like indigestion :D

Newbiebaby1 · 24/01/2018 16:37

I think I’ve felt mine for the first time today (22+5 weeks and had a horrible scare yesterday) feels like bubbles popping inside, these ones were very obvious too

greatorex2017 · 24/01/2018 17:33

I'm 18+2 today too and I think I felt the first movement this morning! But I'm not too sure... felt like wind/trapped nerve/tapping to the left side of my belly!!

BigBaboonBum · 24/01/2018 17:35

Like ball bearings being rolled around inside you

Vicxy · 24/01/2018 17:38

For me it was just really light fluttery feelings tbh. Wasn't even sure it was kicks.

Ombot · 24/01/2018 17:43

A bit like popcorn popping. Aw, I miss it...it's lovely.

crackerjacket · 24/01/2018 17:44

Wind.

boodles101 · 24/01/2018 17:44

Mine was like a little muscle twitch. Kinda like if you have ever had a twitch in your eye but obviously in your belly.

Alabasterangel6 · 24/01/2018 17:52

The nicest thing about those sensations is that even after the baby is born, if you concentrate you can still ‘remember’ it physically somehow. Or at least I can anyway. But when I try to picture looking down at my newborn in my arms I can’t! I can remember the blankets/clothes/room but can’t picture specifically my DC.

PrimeraVez · 24/01/2018 19:21

For me it starts like a bubble popping inside me. Then it feels like a finger gently stroking or tickling me from inside. Then it progresses to full on kicks and punches!

junperoo · 24/01/2018 19:58

Mine felt like a muscle twitch on the inside.

Nowwhyareyoucrying · 24/01/2018 21:14

Definitely like a muscle twitch, like when your eye or thigh twitches sometimes! Then they got stronger like bubbles popping.

butterflycatcher · 24/01/2018 21:56

Yep I'm 19 weeks and had my first movement last week. I know I should be saying it's wonderful but I'm really not too keen on how it feels. It reminds me of that feeling when you have a trapped nerve and it sort of won't go away.

Mrstobe90 · 25/01/2018 01:27

The first movement I had felt like a teeny tiny flutter under my belly button. Was so weird and exciting!
