Hello all

I am new to this, I found out just before Christmas that I was expecting. Had a scare on New years eve and was taken for a scan to which we found out that we was expecting twins, I was measuring almost 7 weeks and both heartbeats could be seen !!! I am due on the 24 August (making me almost 10 weeks)

Feeling slightly nervous as although I have 4 healthy children I had a miscarriage at around 8-9 weeks last year. I have a scan tomorrow afternoon to see how everything is progressing. xx

Hellooo

I'm currently 15 weeks with twins. I have 2Dcs and have had 3 miscarriages so I understand your anxiety.

Bez9087 · 24/01/2018 19:57

Me 🙋🏻‍♀️
I’m 28+4 with non identical twin girls. Although have been told now that there is a 30% chance they can be identical if the egg split early enough.
What type of twins are you expecting?
Ours have their own sacs and placentas. The good thing with twins are the fact you get a lot more scans and checks to Keep an eye on them.
I lost a little boy at 27 weeks so for me getting through the last week was important to me. These are number 4&5 for us (and last haha!)

Hey! Twin Mum here! Feel free to ask any questions. My non-id boys are 3 this week. Eek!

ClareB83 · 24/01/2018 20:01

Me! I'm expecting identical twin boys. Currently 21+5.

They'll be my first babies.

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 24/01/2018 21:13

Me! B/G twins, currently 31+4.

B is suspected to be small for gestational age so going in for consultant scan tomo. Hypnobirthing away the anxiety Confused

ClareB83 · 25/01/2018 07:45

31 is a good gestational age though. If they need to come out soon because B is little they'll be pretty big.

I’m 13w with twins, due mid July. Only found out last week and it’s still sinking in. I already have a DS, 2.5. I seem to have a massive bump already (I didn’t show until 20 weeks+ last time) but I guess this is to be expected as there’s two in there!

Hi all :)

Thank you for you replies. I just want to have my scan today and be told that all is fine and maybe I can relax a little bit, I just have last years miscarriage stuck in my head if that makes sense?.
Bez9087 I am sorry to hear about your little boy :( I lost my daughter at 30 weeks into my pregnancy due to a placental abruption in 2006.

When and how do they find out if they are identical or not?
xx

Good luck for your scan today I have a growth one today too.
They can usually tell earlier on. If they have their own sacs or placentas etc. If they do they are classed as non identical (like mine) they should be able to tell you at the scan today what type of twins they are. The non identical are the least risky set apparently.
Let me know how you get on. Sorry to hear about your daughter. Sad

dee885 · 25/01/2018 10:15

Ahh when we had our scan in EPAU they said they both had their own yolk sac? Didn't really say much more so will ask today.
Good luck with your scan xx

They could still be non identical then. Ours had own yolk sacs at our 7 week scan. Is it your dating one today? They will probably tell you today.
Good luck

nailsathome · 25/01/2018 12:30

Mine have their own sac but share a placenta. Good luck with your scan today

Wuffleflump · 25/01/2018 18:20

13 weeks, separate sacs and placentas. First children.

Had no idea until the 12 week scan!

Gaeilge · 25/01/2018 18:47

I'm 21+6 non identical twins a boy & a girl, our first children I find the extra scans reassuring for my peace of mind hopefully they will ease your too dee885.
I'm suffering from fainting spells, sore legs and just from today achey sides oh and exhausted even after the smallest of tasks fun times!!
