Bile acids in late pregnancy

History of obstetric choleostasis. Am pregnant again, and 35 weeks. Given the history they have been doing blood tests. I have been told bile acids are normal, but they are climbing. (Were 3, then 5, then
7). I'm guessing they will probably continue to climb until they become abnormal (over 11). I am just trying to prepare myself for the fact I'm probably again looking at an induction etc .....

Hi mrs where I am levels over 14 are diagnosed. Do you mind me asking when we're you induced last time?

I've been told 37 weeks but know it can be between 37/38? I was diagnosed at just over 27 weeks. Started on meds levels have reduced however think they may have rose again as itching has started up again.
Fortunately liver and growth scan all normal so just a case of monitoring and weekly bloods now.

I supppse at 35 weeks you don't have long to go now. But either way it's nice 'to know' so you can get organised accordingly.

I hope they don't rise anymore and you get to full term. good luck x x

Thanks, I went full term last time, but my levels stayed around 25 I think on meds. My itching was also never that bad, strangely. I was still induced though, day after my due date. Good luck
